Chris Strople in da house!?!

So when I moved to Cali in 1978 I came across Del Mar Skate Ranch and started riding there. There were all these older rippers there. A couple dudes I remembered were Tom Inouye and Chris Strople. They both rode Caster decks. They were these awesome thin composite decks. So I bought them and rode them. Fast forward 25 years. When Charlie and I did our transaction with Watson Lamintes in 2005 I did not really know of the full history going on here. Watson made Caster boards. Probably the very boards I rode when I started skating. Crazy. Lo and behold Chris Strople shows up at WLHQ in San Diego a few ago and I got to get a shot with him here with a vintage Caster deck made here.

Second photo is Damon, Jim, Brad Strandler, Strople and Biker. Party!

Shepard Fairey Go Skateboarding Day Posters!

Watson Laminates has silk screened 150 4 color Shepard Fairey Go Skateboarding Day posters for 2010. They came out awesome. These are extremely rare and IASC will be auctioning them off for good cause. Thanks to Shepard for doing this amazing art. And thanks to Sergio and Richard at Watson for cranking them out.

Watson Laminates founder, Charlie Watson, with Jim, Damon, Richard and myself with the finished poster.

IASC Executive Director, John Bernards and Laurie Bergthold stopped by to check the progress. That's not Laurie with John. Duh! John is holding the film and I the first pass color.

Richard and Sergio with the first pass. These guys are master craftsmen.

We printed the Ed Templeton GSD posters two years ago to. Try and get you hands on one of these rare items. Watson Master Shipper, Ricardo, spocks one on hand.
